Architectural Fees
Architectural fees are charged according to the basis agreed upon and set out in the Agreement.
Project Cost Based Fee
We base our fees on the SACAP Professional Fees Guidelines (see link below). The fee is calculated according to a sliding scale according to the size of the project and is made up of a base fee plus a percentage of the construction cost of the project.
The apportionment of the calculated fee is done according to the Work Stages:
- Stage 1: 5%
- Stage 2: 15%
- Stage 3: 20%
- Stage 4.1: 20%
- Stage 4.2.1: 5%
- Stage 4.2.2: 5%
- Stage 5 27%
- Stage 6 3%
Fees are invoiced on completion of each stage of the service.
Time Based Fee
- Actual (or estimated) time to complete the different tasks and duties required is charged according to different rates for different staff categories performing the work.
- Time based fees are invoiced on completion of tasks as agreed upon and set out in the Agreement.
Disbursements (Re-imbursement of expenses)
- In addition to the fees agreed to as set out above, the client shall be responsible to reimburse the architect for the following:
- Costs for plotting of drawings, as well as printing and reproduction of documentation.
- Purchased cost of documents on behalf of the client and special postage or courier costs incurred.
- Travel and subsistence costs as agreed upon with the client.
- Any other disbursement costs that may be agreed upon by the client.
